I took this picture because I could not believe that so many people were on the beach in the middle of the day when there were heat warnings being broadcast. This photograph was made about 2:00 pm on the hottest day of August at St. Simons beach. It was so hot, even with the breeze, that I literally could not see clearly to focus because of the sweat running down my glasses. I closed down my apeture as much as possible to get the largest depth of field and shot partially blinded. After the negative was developed, I scanned the negative using a Nikon IV ED scanner.
