In 2010 the Town of Woodside (San Mateo County, California) installed bronze statues of a thoroughbred mare and foal - named Spring and Sprite, respectively - at the Township's entrance overlooking the main access road. Intended to commemorate Woodside's equestrian heritage, the statues have brought out the "creative" side of Woodside residents, who have costumed them for various events including the mask mandate for Covid-19.
