I was expecting the rise of a full moon that evening and while I was sitting at the supper table I glanced through a large eastern facing window and this October "HUNTER'S" moon was just pushing above the horizon. I could tell immediately that it was going to be a spectacular event. My 70-200 f2.8 Nikkor with the 1.7 doubler was on my d750...perfect for this occasion. With just a slight amount of ambient light coming from the "already" below the western horizon sun, I made a few exposures at 340mm f8. The power pole and "bus stop" sign were about a half mile away. No extra post processing was required except I cloned out a small red microwave tower light from the upper left of the photograph.
