A very worthy pick for editors choice, this image has everything going for it. Leading lines, great symmetry and beautiful artistic lighting

Congratulations on Editor's Choice, Andy. Love the symmetry created by the reflection. The nice clouds are an added bonus.

This was the highlight of my weekend shooting fall colors in the San Juan mountains of southwest Colorado. THANK YOU ALL for your kind words and for the editors for selecting this image!

Beautiful! I love the sky and reflection. The colors are intense, but not artificial. Great job and Congratulations!

Excellent exploitation of the optically flat water surface to create the symmetric reflection. Did you have to edit to equalize the exposure of the landscape and its reflection?

I did not need to edit the image to equalize the exposure of the landscape and its reflection. I DID take 4 exposures with different focus points to then 'focus stack' in Photoshop (auto-align and auto-blend). I also applied some local tone adjustments using Radial filters on the background mountains and the fall foliage the left and right.
