Stanford Shopping Center has been a shopping mainstay of the San Francisco Bay Area for the past 60 years. It was the place to go where one purchased their first suit, prom dress, engagement ring, wedding dress, etc.
Unlike other open-air malls, Stanford maintained its open-air design augmenting it with fountains, seating, and landscaping; on a Summer's day, one could sit by a fountain enjoying coffee or croissant. Changing buying patterns have eliminated several types of retailers; Covid-19 has rendered Stanford a ghost town.
