great model captured beautifully. I love the light and shadow in this image. Its super sharp where it needs to be and has a warm softness elsewhere. Well done.

A delightful shot. And the first shot for quite a while I think where the editors chosen a portrait. Great to see people making a comeback. I love it.

I’m sorry to have to disagree. Nice photo but nothing very special about it.

Thank you to Chip for selecting this photo as Editor’s Pick and to all who took the time to comment. Of all the images processed for this session this was Nicolette’s favorite. It was taken in a wine bar with very little ambient light. Thank you

Soft lines on a great pose give a dreamy portrait-like feel but the surrounding yellow ambient light spoils it for me.

The color temperature of of the ambient light was quite warm. I just emphasized it when I brought up the shadows.

The setting is a good choice as is the pose of the model. However, the bright light above her head is distracting and could have been masked off by moving the camera a touch left and a lower, or just clone it out. Also her glasses are pin sharp, but not her eyes. Aperture perhaps too wide open. Some selective dodging on the eyes would bring in more detail. Last point, the images heavy yellow-orange cast imho is a bit too much. Overall good effort.

I like the photo, but I find the comments of voyageurfred very relevant for this photo and helpful to perfect our photos, in general.

I agree that the bright light is a distraction. In the dark environment I did what I could to tone it down. Thank you.
