The Russian research ship Akademik Ioffe, steams through ice floes at Crystal Sound, Antarctica at sunset, some 70 nautical km north of the Antarctic Circle. My cam was attached to a tripod and strapped to the radar mast, shooting a time-lapse sequence of 150 shots, every 60 seconds. Due to the close proximity to the circle, magic hour sunsets lasted for two hours, the sun just dipping below the horizon, before rising again at 2am to start a new day.
