These photos were taken a week ago as I responded with our fire department. My intent is to capture the intensity and dedication the firefighters/first Responders have as they risk their lives everyday.

Excellent capture where one can feel the exhaustion.

As a part time newspaper photojournalist, I call this the kind of picture I dream of bringing back! It tells a vital story -- of what our first responders give to us all. Thank you for sharing, and kudos for its selection as an Editor's Choice!

Elsburgh, this is an outstanding image and, as stated by others, you have done a fantastic job and surely have reached your goal. Congratulations for EC.

Not done for fame or recognition, but the firefighter's fatigue and commitment burns through the image. Well captured.

Being black and white makes the image much stronger than if in color.

Human emotion is not so easy to capture in the wake of it overflowing. This conveys the agony of having fought a great battle and perhaps at a loss of a life. It is important to realize that the people that do this job carry that great burden.
