That was the Luftwaffe pilot's term for the Lockheed P-38 Lightning in WWII. The Lightning also served in the Pacific theater, where its long range allowed a flight to ambush and shoot down Japan's Admiral Yamamoto Isoruko, the architect of the Pearl Harbor attack. Chino Airprt, CA.
