Mercury passes across the face of the sun, November 11 2019. The sun was quiet so the only dark spot is the planet. East coast viewers got to see the entire 5.5 hour transit, which began around 7:35 AM their time. Out west we didn't have sunrise until a couple hours into the transit. This one is about an hour past greatest transit, the point where the planet appears closest to the sun center. D5, VR800/5.6 and Thousand Oaks Optical solar filter.
