This past June, I captured this landscape photograph of Mount Rainier and a partially snow-covered Tipsoo Lake near Chinook Pass, Washington. With an elevation of 5,298 feet above sea level, the area is not regularly snow-free until late June. Weeks later, the alpine meadows are teeming with blooming wildflowers.
