Borrowdale in northern Lakeland is my favourite area for great climbs and walks. Stonethwaite is an offshoot of the Borrowdale valley and Stonethwaite Beck is a tributary of the River Derwent, the main river in Borrowdale. It is a delightful valley for walks along the river and for climbs up the adjacent fells. I have a whole portfolio of photographs of this part of Cumbria and this shot was taken before I set off for home on a superb Sunday afternoon. It is actually a mistake as I had neglected to check the settings from a previous shot but surprisingly it turned out OK thanks to Adobe Camera Raw and a bit of tweaking.
