I tried a "black cardboard" experiment this evening. Angled the cardboard so that sunlight did not strike it directly, then snapped photos of the sunlit subjects in front of it. Later in LR, I slid the "black" slider to max-black. Need to keep playing with this, but it worked better than I expected it to. Here are a couple examples, which need to be better composed. All three: Nikon D750, 1/320, f/22, 120mm, 1600 ISO, and the third with color and other LR enhancement.
