In May 2012, the battleship USS Iowa was scheduled to be towed from its temporary mooring at the Port of Richmond to its permanent location at Long Beach Harbor. As part of this event, the SS Potomac and SS Jeremiah O'Brien were "detailed" to escort the Iowa past the Golden Gate Bridge but, because of bad weather the Iowa did not leave port. None-the-less, the people who booked passage on the O'Brien and Potomac were treated to a day on the water. Captured from the deck of the Victory Ship SS Red Oak Victory. Aperture Priority Exposure. Pattern Metering.
