Steps:
Throw the bell in 3 pieces from Toki Vanilla stoneware clay:
1) crown/head/shoulder (upper section)
2) waist/sound rim (lower section)
3) clapper
Score, slip, and join the upper and lower sections.
Dry slowly until bone dry.
Underglaze the bell and clapper, then bisque fire.
Brush on clear glaze, then final fire at cone 6.
Attach the clapper with copper wire.
Flame work a borosilicate glass pull, attach with copper wire.
Hang from a stand - a banana hanger works well for this one.
Ring the bell with the glass pull or strike with a rubber mallet (superball on a 1/4" hardwood dowel).
