Inspired by the fiery music of Machito's Afro-Cuban band; rendered from memory (no visual reference), 6x9".
Roll out a 3/8" slab of B-Mix clay, cut to desired shape.
Let dry until hard leather hard, 36-48 hours.
Spray with cream color, then blue, then black underglaze.
Scratch in image through the colors with bits of steel wool on a toothpick and small twigs, working from dark to light.
Dry slowly until bone dry (warm on the cheek).
Bisque fire.
Spray a gradated clear glaze, then fire to cone 6.
Hang with a plate hanger near some fiery music.
