Kalimba (thumb piano) Steps: Bisect a dried (Martin kettle) gourd - rubber band serves as cutting guide. Clean and sand interior, rub with raw pigment and seal with acrylic gel. Cut and apply face with contact cement. Apply electrician's ground bar kit (Cutler-Hammer GBK14P used here) to a strip of hardwood and epoxy to face. Cut tone tines from 2x thick 1/4" fish tape, grind and buff tine ends until they are smooth. Cut tone hole where you feel (or transduce) highest sound amplitude. This one was tuned to multiples of the Schumann 7.83hz. resonance (lowest frequency of Earth's global electromagnetic spectrum); easily re-tuned with a screwdriver to any scales/intervals. Apply Dean Markley Artist Transducer pickup.
