Yellow Shafted Northern Flicker. He was a tough one to capture. Very shy and would bolt at the slighted disturbance. I got to within about 50 feet before he took off (again).

Tom, lovely image. I am really impressed at iso 400 at approx. 50' with the 70-200vr! Must be a big crop. Really well done. Tom

Thanks. I was surprised that I could even get *that* close. This is about a 25% crop with a little bit of sharpening and NR in LR3. I spent the better part of the afternoon trying to get this guy in flight, but he was having no part of it. I'll have to wear camo next time :-)
