At a pre-determined location, we took advantage of a great spot visually, where a creek runs through a fallen and hollowed-out log, through a growth of ferns and moss. While the scene is very appealing, it does not photograph well with just ambient light. So we set out to see how it would look using the Nikon CLS system with two SB-900 flashes set on remote, using the D90 pop-up flash in commander mode.

In this third frame, we have angled the flash (Group A) with a lower angle to better highlight the water and shadow detail. Also, the white balance was shifted from Auto to Shade, to bring some warmth back to the scene, and also shift the daylight-balanced flashes to a warmer light.
