At a pre-determined location, we took advantage of a great spot visually, where a creek runs through a fallen and hollowed-out log, through a growth of ferns and moss. While the scene is very appealing, it does not photograph well with just ambient light. So we set out to see how it would look using the Nikon CLS system with two SB-900 flashes set on remote, using the D90 pop-up flash in commander mode.

In this final and sixth frame, the second flash (Group B) behind the log has its power ratio increased again to 1/8th-power, an additional stop of light. The light coming from the flash behind is noticeable when compared to the previous frame, #5. With the stronger light also comes stronger shadows, with this frame as close to possible replicating the sunlight coming through the trees.
