This church was built (or opened, I can't be sure) in 1853 for the German-speaking community of La Chaux-de-Fonds. The bell tower was completed later, in the 1880's if memory serves.

This image was taken for a south-east point of view and reveals the importance of the sustainment masonry that was necessary to "sit" the church firmly on even ground.
