I was taking photos of the fox on the left when the one on the right suddenly dashed up out of the brush to chase away the first one. Usually such encounters end quickly as the threatened one runs away. Because this one didn't immediately flee, I was able for the first time to capture this intimidating body language by both—bared teeth and arched back (presumably to appear larger). Even so, this lasted only a few seconds and a few frames before the one on the left lowered its head in submission and the confrontation was over.
