The tree roots were not the problem! It was getting around the deep muck and then the waist to shoulder high weeds and plants while getting to the van in the dark. It would have been extremely helpful had my van mates not kept shutting off and moving the white "beacon" light that I was aiming for. Then again, what are friends for :-)
