Colors in Grand Teton were at the absolute peak for the recent ANPAT. When the early morning light hit the aspens, the color was brilliant. Here is an early morning shot from Oxbow Bend. 2-stop soft grad-ND used.

Nice fall composition. The blurred reflection (from wind ripples) detract from the scene. After enlarging the image, I scrolled down to just below the white trunks of the reflected aspen, thereby cropping the image at that point horizontally. I found this cropped image to be much more appealing as it magnified the most entreating part of this photo- the warm colors and parallel lines of the fall vegetation.

That's a great suggestion. As you would expect, there are a number of different versions of this image that work. The one here is the classic Oxbow Bend image in full Fall color, but I also like some of the variations like the one you suggest.
