Wow! Beautiful work. That is so cool. I'm curious to hear any details on how you did that (flash, shutter, how did you time it so well, etc.).

Hi dizzwave,
pleased you like my image which was an exercise in relieving the Covid blues. We are currently in lock-down, plus it's rather wintery outside.
Equipment required: large frying pan
spoon filled with milk
diffused light right
flash left at 1/32 power with snoot directed at spoon
plenty of paper towels

Shot in a dark room with 35mm lens @ f/13 1/250s ISO 2000

I simply dropped the strawberry pressed the shutter and prayed. With some practise you find the right timing. I took about 30 shots and ended up with 6 good ones. it's good fun and passes the time. Give it a try. Good luck.

Rainer, I do remember this image from you. I am very glad it was selected as Editors Choice. Beautiful and technically excellent. Congratulations.

Super cool shot! I must give this a try myself (if my wife let me use the kitchen for this experiment) Congrats!

30 shots! That's a lot of delicious fails. Excellent image, well-deserving of accolades like EC.

Thanks all for your encouraging comments. One word of warning, though, if you try this one don't forget to check your lens for splashes, they might ruin an otherwise perfect shot.

Great shot. I have attempted images like that in the past and have never come up with anything tact sharp like this.
