Boston, Massachusetts: Another photo in my springtime Boston Public Garden series - a great time of year there with different colored tulips everywhere. The Public Garden was established in 1837 as the first public botanical garden in the U.S. It consists of twenty-four acres (97,000 m²) of landscape that was once a salt marsh. Together with the Boston Common, these two parks form the northern tip of the Emerald Necklace, a long string of parks designed by Frederick Law Olmsted.
