This terraces belong to "Mammoth Spring" in Yellowstone.
This pano is made up of 2 rows of 8 shots each, at 180º of coverage (wide) and 60º (tall) and it was taken not long after sunrise.
What I liked most of this pano was the challenging scence, since I used a strong polarizer when I was supposed not to do that for a panorama. I figured out that, because of the location of the sun, the shadows of the tree trunks in the middle would curve, enhancing a 3D view alongside the panorama and woud add some contrast compared to the strong and straight shadows of the trees to the left down corner of the scene. I was happy to realize that my thoughts came true after processing this pano.
Nikon D200
Nikkor 18-70 mm at 18 mm, iso 100
Singh-Ray gold-blue polarizer set to blue
EV: between 1/4 to 1" x f 22, plus 2 and 3 stops Singh Ray ND filter on the front of the lens to darken the exposure, w&b set to direct sunlight.
RRS ultimate pano head, tripod mounted.
I did only levels and curves in CS2. The colour present on the scene is exactly what the Gold/blue polarizer rendered the scene. I didn't want to change hue/saturation since I like the way the colours/tones/hues came out. I think this polarizer makes a real difference in scenes like this.

thanks Tom. I remembered you and all the Van-3 crew pulled my leg at exhaustion for using this polarizer. Now, it is high time this technique spoke for itself Wink
