This is one of the shots I took of a Cooper's Hawk this morning. As I closed the distance to the bird with foot zoom and focusing on the eyes, I messed up and chopped he bottom of the sign and it's feathers. Live and learn.


2008 note: I re-edited the RAW file to this photo and copy/pasted the edit steps one at a time from the first 'Cooper's Hawk' photo. Pasting the steps one at a time improved the photo very much.

Nice capture and living proof that you can make an excellent image at 400MM with that 80-400 Nikkor,,. Nicely done!!

It's just fine cut off at the bottom like that. Soon you would have had to reframe anyhow, well maybe not that soon. Nice picture and I agree with "Lag" about the 80-400, a lens I would love to own! Someday!
