Most of the Portuguese are very flat and plain with the features being the colours, Balconies, windows and iron work on the balconies. The Portuguese Goan added the more interesting entrances including a Balcao, sort of a meeting/sitting place at the front entrance (the read bench in this image which has another one opposite. The other interesting feature is that the Portuguese Goan and Goan most often enter into the main social room of the house. I really need to do some reading/studying on how to shoot buildings since it is something I rarely do. There has never been anyone one working on this property when I pass by. I would like to be able to take the 14-24-2.8 inside this and other buildings. Shooting down through the beams to the mosaic floor could be good ;) . There are some fun ruins around but even those are disappearing fast. Many thanks and I did do a B&W of the other one but not too satisfied with the conversion. I've been to HK many times but never to Macao. Would be interesting to see if the blend of Portuguese/Chinese is different (big difference in climate :) ) Tom

The British administrated/protected Goa for the Portuguese during the Napoleonic Wars (just a few years) and Margoa was their seat of power, This house is very close to the Cathedral.

My project for the Monsoon. So many of the very old houses and buildings have been bought by property speculators. This property would have been Prime; location, location, location :). Will try and learn how to shoot them better :) . CNX2 with contrast and small touch of Detail Extractor from Nik
