Gordon, welcome to Nikonians and this is one very good(excellent) series to start off with. I am assuming this is one of your Bee Eaters. I normally get these shots at distance  . Maybe a 10  . Some sharpening halos but who am I to talk  . No exif and no details in your profile, what lens combo? Cheers, Tom
