These are some of the photographs I've taken to sell off my stuff on eBay.
I'm using eBay as an excuse to learn photography, not photography as a means of selling off my stuff, so the eBay selling bit is going v-e-r-r-r-r-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y. The photography, on the other hand, keeps improving by leaps and bounds!
These are some of my best shots. They were all taken with a make-shift "home studio," and then processed to death in Capture NX and Photoshop Elements in order to get the exposure and the colors right. No items have been made to look any better than, or even any different from, what they look like in real life, but they've all had extensive post-processing on account of I didn't have the right lighting equipment and, in some cases, a good enough knowledge of color, to get the color or the exposure right "out of the box."
I sold this dress a while ago. If I were to process this shot knowing what I've learned in the past couple months, I'd brighten up the dress quite a bit. At the time, the challenge was to brighten up the dress without making it whiter, which at the time I wasn't remotely able to pull off. I think I could do it now; either that or I'd re-shoot the whole thing using my Xpo-balance card to start with more faithful color rendering in the first place.
