I watched this little guy for quite awhile as he shuffled his feet along the bottom of the lake to scare up some food. There was strong sunlight coming from the right and this area had a lot of trees and bushes around it. I switched to my 1.7 TC because the 2x teleconverter was too long to get his whole body in. D700 with 300 mm f/4 EDIF AFS lens and Nikon 1.7 IIE teleconverter on Gitzo 3541L tripod with Markins M20 L ball. F/11, 1/400, ISO 720, 500 mm equiv.

Debra the price has fallen down to a point where it is around $2200. This is an amazing camera and worth every penny.

Nicely done Rob.
I agree, the 700 is a wonder.
Technology trudges forward, I will gladly use the "old" sensor tech.

Mark thanks for the comments. I agree that the old tech still works, but the new tech opens up possibilities.
