I am not posting this because it is a great photo, because it is not, as the Great Blue Heron whose photo is posted elsewhere spotted something in the grass and darted for it so quickly that it startled me and 1/400 s wasn't fast enough to catch the lunge. But it was so unusual, I had to share it. D700 with 300 mm f/4 EDIF AFS lens with Nikon 2.0 IIE teleconverter hand held. f/10, 1/400, ISO 280
