While I was checking out new areas of Vasona Lake today, I came upon this approximately 10 inch high egret, and was able to get pretty close with my camera and tripod to get a few images of him before I got too close and he flew away.


D700 with 300mm f/4 EDIF AFS lens and Nikon 2.0 IIE teleconverter on Gitzo 3541L tripod with Markins M20L head.

These are very nice images. The feathers on the beak add interest, and the creamy background make the white pop!

The light is great, and you captured it well. The white egret on the darker backgound is very nice.
