We were too late to see the sunset. It had just gone over the mountain. I set up to get a shot right then at 5:49 It was shot with a D700 f11 1/25 sec. ISO1000 24-70f2.8 lens. The second shot which is the purple haze was shot at 6:04 pm F11 1/10 sec. ISO640 24-70F2.8 lens. I layered the second shot over the first pix and erased the sky combined the two layers to have definition in the salt flats (devils golf course) and the purple haze of twilight. I tried this with Photshops HDR, but wasn't happy with results so I did it the old way.
