Hi Lyle,
Thanks for your kind comment. I love the D3 for its amazing sensor. I shot some of those birds when the sun was barely on the horizon at mid night. The birds were active, and to capture the action I had to shoot with a fast shutter speed, 1/1000 second or faster. That necessitated jacking up the iso to at least 1600 or more. Yet there is no grain visible, and the resolution is fantastic.
Iceland is a great location for bird photography and landscape.
