This image was taken somewhere near Uglich on the Volga. As you sail down the Volga which is Europe's longest River, you will come upon structures sticking above the waters surface. During Stalin's time a series of locks, dams and reservoir's were created on the Volga with slave labor. The death toll was high. The result is some towns along the waterway were flooded and some of the taller structures will be above the waters surface.
Image shot hand held as we sailed past the structure. D200 with 35-70 f/2.8D zoom at 70 mm. f/5.6, 1/160, ISO 100. RAW image processed in Captue NX2 and then resulting TIFF image imported into PSCS3 Extended where it was worked on further in LAB space.
