A very well framed and interesting scene Debra. From looking at your gallery pictures it appears that we have similar location interests in the Toronto down-town area and use the same camera. Just past this scene going west where the side-walk widens is a very beautiful large old wooden door with intricate carving. I believe it is the entrance to a health spar and is recessed from the side-walk. I think you and your 24-120 VR lens would find it a great subject.

There is so much of Toronto architecture and history disappearing these days and we photographers have an opportunity to record it.

Hello there-thanks for the note and kind words. The doors you referred to was the old entrance to the Bamboo Club which was a great nightclub that was on Queen St. for a few decades. It's now gone. It was a great place to party during Caribana. I've photographed them many times also but, like the distillery shot you also commented on, I've never taken a shot I'm happy with. Have you?

Thanks for identifying the recent history of the door. At first I thought it had an oriental flavour. I have taken a few photographs that stood out from the crowd and pleased me, but, you are correct, and maybe that's the point when you are passionate about a subject; an urge to try and improve on the original. For me, it has been the awe-inspiring metal framed glass roof of BCE Place. (I refuse to acknowledge the new name on principle) Several times a year I am back for the so-called definitive shot, which of course is beyond reach, but gets the adrenalin flowing. It's obvious from your portfolio that you enjoy a wide range of subjects, including social commentary.

Best wishes,
Michael

Too jumbled. It is hard to do much with the randomness of people in the street. Much confusion here visually. A pot too stirred.
