A view thru the trees as the Emerald Waters of the mighty Athabasca River tumble into a steep narrow gorge. Melting snow causes torrential flows which stir up the glacial sediment,,,giveing the lakes and rivers these unique blue green colors,,,.
This was shot during a brighter moment on an mostly dark and overcast day,,,. The clouds and rain eventually won out over the mid afternoon sun but not before taking this image during one of the transitions,,. D100,,12-24DX with a Pol and a 2 EV ND,,1/2 Sec at F22,,,.

Always look forward to your posts Lyle. Nice contrast of the hard rocks with the "soft" water. Colour of water is marvellous; reminds me of Morraine Lake.

Great framing and sharpness. Was this captured as a single photo or an HDR blend of multiple photos? It is perfect!

Hi Mort
This is a single image and no HDR has been used,,. It was taken during a bright moment on a mostly dark and overcast day,,,. The rain clouds and the intense afternoon sun were doing battle all day with the clouds eventually winning out but not before taking this image during one of the transitions,,.

Cheers
Lyle,.

Very powerful image. I can "hear" the roar. The feel of earth as it succumbs to the water's force... just beautiful.
