Today was grey and cold outside and I was a bit bored. So I tried something no sane person would do, just for fun to see how it would turn out. I have an old Nikkor-H Ai'd 300 mm f/4.5 lens, that normally focuses as close as 13 ft! So I put a Kenko 1.4TC, and 3 Kenko tubs (36,20 & 12mm) on it today and put the whole thing on my tripod with the lens mounted on the tripod and my D200 hanging off the end of the TC1.4. Well I could see a slight droop in the set of tubes on the end, so I don't recommend you try it. But I was able to focus at about 4 feet with the combo and took a picture of a flower my wife has in a pot by the kitchen sink window. It was late afternoon and the light was low, and was mostly backlighting the flower. This was my result with some post processing of my RAW file in Capture NX and Photoshop CS3 extended.
